Signing Back In

Well I promised I'd be back and report on my journey. So here goes. Try as I might I could not stay away from the bad news. Since my family and friends knew I was trying to go cold turkey and avoid the monster vision (T.V.), they felt compelled to let me know all the sordid details of the demise of our freedoms. But if I hadn't had their input, total strangers informed me of our sorry state of affairs.
My personal quest for a change in my physical, mental, emotional, financial and spiritual advancement saw some improvement, but I have a way to go. Physically I lost a few pounds, but not enough to brag. Mentally I did read and blog, but didn't reach my goal of putting my books on the computer. Emotionally, well let's just say I was much calmer than usual. Although I am a pretty joyful and stable person anyway. Of course don't ask my family if that is true. They will tell you I have multiple ladies in my head. Financially we did earn more this month than we have in a while, but I must admit I allowed the husband make all the sales in April. I think he knew I was taking a back seat, so he increased his activity. So I guess you can say my plan worked. Now as to the Spiritual aspect of this trip. I did well for the first week and a half. But, talking to the Father after a long absence was a little more challenging than I expected. However I am back in the habit and intend to stay there!

Signing out for April

It is time to take a look at my life and see if there is a way to make a better me. Thus, I am signing out for the month of April.
My plan is to avoid television and as much unpleasantness as possible. This includes family members, friends and just plain folks who are negative or who cause me to be negative. If I could go away and hide for a month I would do so. If I could simply not speak to anyone for a month I would do so.
My brain is over stimulated. I am not getting any younger, slimmer, prettier, smarter, or any further ahead in the game of life. Therefore, I will read a lot and I will try to become inspired to start finishing the many books I have started. Some of those books just have titles.
I also will stop eating salt, which is a long time habit that has probably already done irreversible damage to my heart, blood vessels and brain.
Without salt I should become slimmer. If I read and write, I should become smarter. If I become slimmer I will probably look younger. If I look younger and become smarter, I will probably feel prettier. And I may find a new exciting course for my life.
The above is a clear possibility and some foolishness. But I believe it to be necessary for my sanity. Although I can not totally avoid life, because this is FairTax month and I will have to compel myself to attend a TEA party and maybe a meeting or two. And then I have to interact with people in my work. But I can limit my conversations to dialog that is necessary.
And finally, I will commit to speak to my Lord every day this month. For although he has been very good to me, I have avoided him for a long time now. Only speaking with him as my spirit moves me not as his spirit moves me. What a wasteland we create for ourselves; what opportunities we allow to pass us by. If only we would call and wait upon the Lord. If only we would embrace the Peace that Passes Understanding.
I Was Lost, But Jesus Found Me, Found The Sheep That Went Astray. Put His Loving Arms Around Me, Drew Me Back Unto His Way.
The Lord willing and the creek don't rise and Obama hasn't given America away, I will see you here in May with a full report on my little side journey in life.

The Other Side

A few days ago I visited the other side. I tuned in to a liberal blog and chat room. The grammar seemed impeccable and of high intellectual thought until I reached the level of their individual emotion. At that moment, my senses were inundated by language that was unnecessary and offensive. I would say the left, in general, has the distinction of losing their argument by their use of profanity.
Let us all seek to elevate our level of discourse and express our views with clarity and respect for each other, ourselves, and the other side.

God's on the Move Again!

This is the day the Lord hath made. I will rejoice and be glad in it!
My first 5 blog writings have been of a political nature. I have been so bogged down with the condition of the world stage that I pushed aside the only peace available to mankind. The only sure way to bring about genuine heart change is to Call upon the Lord and to Wait upon the Lord. And while we are calling and waiting let us make sure we, as individuals, are living the way we should and loving God, each other and even our enemies. That is the way to achieve true inner peace.

ARROGANCE

Does it get under your skin as much as it does mine? I'm talking arrogance. I know we can't all have great humility and get big things accomplished. Some of us have to take the bull by the horns and make ideas work. But, please, tell me that my leaders possess at least a tiny bit of humility. Everywhere I look these days I see ARROGANCE from sea to shining sea.
Senator Spector, please do not tell people I love that they should not linger when they grow old because the last days of their lives cost the taxpayers too much money. Not good form, sir, and looks like, to me, you are very close to that category yourself. ARROGANCE! Living wills, Yes! But that is each citizen's choice to make.
Speaker Pelosi, please do not insult our intelligence with your self-importance. You are spending our money, not your's, to ride in luxury on Military planes. And by the way I thought you were for greening up America. ARROGANCE!
Congressman Rangel, Secretary Geitner, and Tom Daschel, Pay your taxes and next time hire a decent CPA and an honest Tax Attorney. ARROGANCE!
Elephants that voted for the bailout and those that voted for the recent Spending bill, SHAME ON YOU! ARROGANCE! Any local Alabama elephant who voted to spend money on Pork will be punished at the ballot box when they ask for my vote. I will campaign hard against you!
Mr. President, I did not vote for you. My reason had nothing to do with skin color,yours or mine. It was strictly your rhetoric. In your performance so far, I have seen no action from you that is redeeming. I hope God blesses you with good health and strikes you with more wisdom than you have shown in these first days of your Presidency. If I were you, I should pray for the wisdom of Solomon, and seek it with every fiber in my being. Then maybe the Almighty would also grant you humility. You have wealth and the power that goes with it. The only thing is that those tax dollars that you and your companions are spending, with abandon, belong to the Americans who hired you. Do I dare say ARROGANCE?
One Donkey I forgot to mention. Vice President Biden; All I can say is keep it up! You are the best comic relief we have. ARROGANT? Yes. BUT FUNNY!

Some folks may be getting the message!

A few brave donkeys have decided to kill the budget bill. Yea! But a few elephants had a dog in the race. About time we took names and sent these pachyderms packing. Maybe some of our leaders are getting the message that the people are mad as H E double Hockey Sticks and we will be throwing our red, white, and black teas into the sea.
Let's look at April 15, and July 4th as our targets. Keep you eyes open, your ears clean, your hands ready to take back our country. We can still smell the pork stench from Washington, but if we persevere and remain true to our values we will again taste the sweetness of freedom. Of course we will probably have to brew a lot of tea.

What Should I Do?

I wish to be patriotic but I'm not really sure how to go about it. What should I do first? Oh, maybe I could get a better paying job so I could give my government more money. Maybe you could just get a job for the same reason. Times are tough though, and jobs are hard to find. I believe we should support our country and give until it hurts. Let's see if the following is anywhere close to a clear possibility or just plain foolishness.
What if (IF being the biggest possibility) the Donkeys and Elephants decided to do the best thing for America? What IF they started with themselves and cleaned their own stables before they tried to tell us how to be patriotic? Wouldn't the air smell a lot better in Washington? What IF they were to roll back (Walmart Style) their pay raise? Wouldn't that endear all of us to them? What IF they decided to spend less of our money on projects going nowhere? Wouldn't they gain more of your respect?
Here is a biggee: What IF they changed the tax code to make it easier for our leaders to comply?
There is just one problem with this foolishness, the animals are in charge and we are powerless until we finally smell enough of it and put the unfit ones out to pasture.

Is it just me?

Is it just me or do the current Washington power folks seem a little arrogant? Maybe less than gracious winners? I've never seen such a rush to run over the opposition as well as the American people. Ms. Nancy recently said, in answer to some question, 'well, we won'. I mean pride in accomplishment is good, but what has been accomplished? Certainly not a stellar ethical reform. And I see more of the pig mentality. Spend, Spend, Spend!
Obama has tried to converse with the losers and include them in decision making, but I fear the effort was mostly to bring them into his way of thinking, rather than let them be real participants.
Is it just me or does our new President seem less inclined to preach hope as he did when he was running for the office? And I guess when he said he would change the way Washington was run, he did not realize he would not really be in charge. Perhaps he is seeing what President Bush ran into 8 years ago.
Is it just me or is it a clear possibility that the minority in Congress has the moral high ground? So far President Obama's Republican appointees have not had any tax scandals or any other indiscretion. Of course it may just be a matter of time. If it happens, there will be bold headlines, you may be assured of that.
And finally, is it just me or, are the losers of this election looking more gracious in losing than the losers of 8 years ago?

A Wonderful Time to be a Donkey

Yes, it is a great time to be a donkey! A new leader occupies the white house and there are clear possibilities with the business as usual herd. The elephants have been shrunk down to size and humbled. Recently they have shown more courage by saying no to the spendthrift donkeys. Perhaps with the onset of humility comes courage. Or, maybe, when you get a good beating from the real people you answer to, you begin to serve, instead of self-serve.

As for the triumphant donkeys, let us hope they learn humility soon. Let us hope they clean up their own stables. The smell from the Geitner and Rangel donkeys is heavy in the air. Those perverter's of the peoples trust, (oh, sorry mistaker's of the tax code). Or maybe they just really do not understand the code themselves, which would make them dumb jack..... Now since I am a grandmother and a lady and this is a family friendly blog I will censure myself; which is what the Donkey Leader should do to this unfit twosome.
